IMMIGRATION HISTORY

By dave

“We think it as competent and as necessary for a state to provide precautionary measures against the moral pestilence of paupers, vagabonds, and possibly convicts as it is to guard against the physical pestilence which may arise from unsound and infections articles.”

-New York v. Miln, Chief Justice Philip P. Barbour 1837

Throughout our history, the United States have always adapted our immigration policies to suit the times and the will of the citizenry.

Progressives have worked aggressively for decades to systematically rewrite history in support of their destructive ideologies. They must distort or ignore facts because facts lead to truth and common sense, and those are their greatest enemies. One such recent example is the claim that Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump is a xenophobe, a racist and an anti-immigrant bigot for proposing we change our immigration policies to meet today’s specific needs.

Much of the population associates him with these disparaging terms but cannot cite a single reason for holding this belief, except that they hear it over and over again from the liberal media and that is their intention.

In the wake of increasing Islamic Fundamentalist terrorist attacks within the United States and around the world, Donald Trump recently introduced a plan he refers to as “Extreme Vetting”.  As Trump stated, “Those who do not believe in our Constitution, or who support bigotry and hatred, will not be admitted for immigration into the country.”

Trump’s overall position on legal immigration would include temporarily suspending entry by individuals from countries with high numbers of potential terrorists. On illegal immigration, Trump has promised to adhere to the oath all Presidents must take by enforcing both the U.S. Constitution and existing laws.   He claims he will stop the flow with a wall on our southern border, which he intends to “make Mexico pay for.”

President Obama, Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, Progressive Representatives and even the Pope, all of whom are regularly surrounded by walls and armed security guards, have decried Trumps’ proposals as unprecedented and contrary to American values. However, their mission to eradicate facts is incomplete. Our true history is still available, and on Mr. Trump’s side.

For the first 7 years of U.S. history, under our first constitution (The Articles of Confederation), immigration fell under State jurisdiction.

Requirements varied from State to State and included stipulations that immigrants take an oath disavowing loyalty to their country of origin; that they be of the Christian religion; of good character, etc.  Almost immediately after the U.S. Constitution went into effect in 1789, the 1790 Alien Naturalization Act established national guidelines requiring all immigrants be ‘free white persons’ (which excluded slaves, indentured servants and most women, all of whom were considered as dependents), that they be of good moral character, and that they take an oath of allegiance supporting the U.S. Constitution.

Later laws changed the period of residence and required immigrants to disavow any title of nobility. However, citizenship itself was bestowed by any court with jurisdiction in the immigrant’s State of residence. In 1837, the Supreme Court ruled in New York v. Miln with Chief Justice Philip P. Barbour writing:

“We think it as competent and as necessary for a state to provide precautionary measures against the moral pestilence of paupers, vagabonds, and possibly convicts as it is to guard against the physical pestilence which may arise from unsound and infections articles.”

What you have here is a totally unscripted discussion between two friends about the state of our country and our political leaders.

As always Megan brings her A-game to a political discussion. Her wish and mine would be that the people of this great country would start listening more to the alternatives to the main stream media where they would get less agenda and more truth.

Trump Is Not A RINO

By dave

From the very beginning of the first GOP presidential debate, Donald Trump was in the spotlight and under fire from Fox News commentators. The first question asked for a show of hands of all candidates who would not pledge to support the Republican presidential nominee. Only Donald Trump raised his hand, which led to the first of many confrontations during the debate. He was challenged by moderator Brett Baier and lambasted by Senator Rand Paul for “buying and selling politicians.” While Trump declared that he wants to “run as the Republican nominee,” he is wise to keep his options open.

The Republican establishment is terrified of Trump, who can finance a third party campaign and is independent of special interests. They will continue to mercilessly attack him, hence Trump is smart to maintain “leverage” and keep open the third party alternative.

It may also provide a needed choice for the American people. If the presidential nominees are Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Jeb Bush, or another RINO, Trump should enter the race to give voters a real alternative. The last thing the country needs is another Bush or Clinton in the White House.

In fact, in a three way race between Clinton, Bush and Trump, there is a possibility that Trump may win. There is great dissatisfaction with political dynasties and millions of Americans would refuse to vote for either Clinton or Bush, giving a well-funded third party candidate like Trump a chance.

There is certainly precedent for a strong third party candidacy. In 1992, Texas businessman Ross Perot was leading the presidential race before he exited amid claims that he did not want to throw the election into the House of Representatives. He later said he left the race because he was concerned that Republicans were planning to disrupt his daughter’s wedding. When he returned to the campaign months later, his prospects were severely diminished. Nevertheless, he finished with almost 19% of the vote, the highest third party total since Theodore Roosevelt in 1912.

Unlike Perot, who destroyed his chances when he abandoned the race, Trump would be a more formidable third party contender. He has universal name recognition, billions of dollars to spend, and no need to placate special interests or big donors. Clearly, the GOP establishment, and their media lapdogs, will try to destroy his chances. This is exactly what happened during the Fox News debate. After being immediately confronted on the third party question, Trump spent the rest of the debate fending off queries about his bankruptcies, his stand on abortion and Obamacare, his treatment of women, and his previous support of Democrat candidates. Throughout it all, Trump stayed on the offensive and refused to apologize.

This stance was extremely popular with the vast conservative audience of the Drudge Report website. After 531,000 votes were tabulated, Trump was declared the winner by over 45% of the voters, far outpacing second place finisher Senator Ted Cruz who received just 14% of the vote. While the public loved Trump’s performance, so-called experts such as analyst Charles Krauthammer and pollster Frank Luntz panned The Donald’s showing. In true Trump fashion, he blasted Luntz as a “low class slob.”

Clearly, Trump’s best chance for victory would be as the GOP nominee. Obviously, he would prefer to win the Republican nomination; however, he may be subjected to impossible hurdles as the race progresses.

While a third party candidacy is not the ideal scenario for Trump, he definitely needs to keep it as an option as the race progresses. It is too early to determine what will happen, but we do know that since Donald Trump is involved, practically everyone will be watching.

The Art of the Deal

By dave

Donald Trump’s announcement on Tuesday has been called rambling, xenophobic, and circus like–by Democrats and Republicans. Here are a few of Trumps “ramblings” from Tuesday:

Our labor participation rate was the worst since 1978.

We have a disaster called the big lie – Obamacare.

We’ve got $18 trillion in debt, we’ve got nothing but problems.

Our enemies are getting stronger and stronger by the day and we as a country are getting weaker.

We have people that are morally corrupt. We have people that are selling this country down the drain.

These are some of the cards that have been dealt to the next presidential contenders. So what is the GOP doing to win over the hearts and minds of voters? Enter the TPP, The Trans-Pacific Partnership. John Boehner and crew are trying to ram through the TPP…again. A treaty that no one wants and no one has read–much like Obamacare, which caused the Democrats to lose control of the House in a midterm election. Is it any wonder why Trump calls politicians stupid?

60% of voters believe Hillary is a liar. 62% of GOP voters won’t vote for Trump, and Trump knows this. Trump sees this challenge as an opportunity. Some in the GOP purport that Trump is damaging to the Republican brand. Republicans lost two major elections to a community organizer. The GOP brand, before Trump came along, was already damaged.

Trump has built a brand synonymous with success. He is an artful deal maker and negotiator. He was mentored in real estate by his father. He takes “risks” by speaking directly and truthfully. Hillary Clinton has built a brand synonymous with lying and scandals. Her mentor was Saul Alinsky, a community agitator and socialist who authored “Rules for Radicals” and dedicated this book to Lucifer.

Trump’s campaign has also been accused by the Clinton/George Soros propaganda wing “Media Matters” of hiring an actor or two to wear tshirts and wave signs. The horror! If Hillary Clinton wasn’t charging $200,000 an hour, maybe Trump could have hired her. She has been acting as the champion of everyday Americans for quite some time now, yet the champion of income inequality and gender justice paid women on her staff 30% less than men. As Secretary of State, she tried to ‘reset’ Russia by presenting them a red, plastic button. I watched that “negotiation” in horror.

In the Art of the Deal, Trump lays out 11 Trump cards for negotiating deals:

(1) THINK BIG

(2) PROTECT THE DOWNSIDE AND THE UPSIDE WILL TAKE CARE OF ITSELF

(3) MAXIMIZE YOUR OPTIONS

(4) KNOW YOUR MARKET

(5) USE YOUR LEVERAGE

(6) ENHANCE YOUR LOCATION

(7) GET THE WORD OUT

(8) FIGHT BACK

(9) DELIVER THE GOODS

(10) CONTAIN THE COSTS

(11) HAVE FUN

It is no question that Trump will be using these cards in his upcoming negotiations with the American people and the press as he seeks the presidential nomination. The GOP, should stop flipping the bird to their base, pick up a few of these Trump cards, and thank Trump for the honesty and excitement he has injected into this race. Did Jeb Bush’s announcement on Monday cause controversy or excitement?
