Anger
“A man’s admiration for absolute government is proportionate to the contempt he feels for those around him” – Alexis de Tocqueville
Look around you. Have you wondered why everyone seems so angry? It is everywhere you turn, from television, to radio, to print media, to just plain conversation with your peers or family. What is the cause of all of this grief?
Now admittedly, the country has gone through a pretty rough four years. The economy has been in the tank; people have lost jobs, homes, retirement and in some cases even loved ones. This current malady would be the easy culprit to blame for the anger, but I think it goes deeper than that. I think it goes to the issue of choice and the ongoing attempt to remove it from the human equation.
For years the propaganda coming from the collectivist media is that everyone should support the hive and that individualism is not to be tolerated. This message is supported by our educational system, indoctrinating our children to believe that everything should be done in favor of the group. In our professional lives, the word consensus is constantly used, often times to the detriment of what we are trying to accomplish. The ongoing women’s movement has joined this propaganda with its war on men and has successfully subjugated the male species to the point that, by and large, they don’t who they are anymore.
I think the following may give some insight. Recently an incident happened in Florida where a 43 year old man punched a football referee. On a talk show, a guest caller suggested that the reason for the violence was due to the pent up anger due to the woman’s movement suppression of men’s manliness. The talk show host blew off the comment as nonsense, but I think it has merit.
Think about all of the stress we ingest every day. Think about the constant bombardment of negative anti-individual information thrown at us each and every day.
The key here is that we choose to soak up all of this. Yes, we choose to do it and because we choose to do it and our internal tuning fork knows better. With this choice, all of that negative energy continues to build inside of each and every one of us and displays itself as anger.
Who are we really angry at? Are we angry at politicians because we have chosen to give them our power to solve our problems? After all, haven’t we been told that the collective will solve everything! We are angry at ourselves…
Here are a few tips to start turning this around;
- Recognize what you have been doing and understand that no one has the right to your power, so stop giving it away. This means your spouse, friends, employer, or anyone else.
- Take down the rear view mirror. Recognize that by making your own choice, sometimes you make mistakes. You cannot let the mistakes paralyze you, so put them in the rear and only look forward.
- Everyday commit to clearing a small bit of the emotional baggage you may be carrying.
- Vision: understand that you can expand as much as you desire, so stop thinking small. Start thinking big.

Individualism
“Politics is the business of getting power and privilege without possessing merit. A politician is anyone who asks individuals to surrender part of their liberty — their power and privilege — to State, Masses, Mankind, Planet Earth, or whatever. This state, those masses, that mankind, and the planet will then be run by … politicians.” — P. J. O’Rourke
I was recently asked during my radio show by a listener in Europe; “What has happened to the United States”. I gave an answer at the time which I felt covered the demise of the pioneer spirit once had here in the United States, but thinking more on the question I arrived at a much simpler answer.
The late Gene Roddenberry created the answer to our question in 1989 when he introduced “The Borg” to the public and the statement “Resistance is Futile”.
This country and the individuals in it have been under a constant assault to be assimilated into the collective for the last 100 years. As we pointed out during one of our previous shows, the socialist and politically correct progressives immigrated into this country in the early 1900’s and became part of the media (both Hollywood/Television/print) to spread their collectivism.
How did this collectivism get established? I think the discussion needs to start with the “want vs. need” question. . We are all well aware of the basic definition of need – food, water, shelter, and air to breathe. The early pioneers knew the term need very well because it literally meant survival. Early industry began the process of establishing a need by marketing their product and convincing the consumer of its merits. As time passed, entire industries were created to just establish a need for one thing or another. These needs, good or bad became part of our psychological makeup. Today we need to do just about everything; from travel, to that new job, new house, etc.
Progressives in this country understand this psychology very well, since creating a “need” is the baseline of their propaganda program. Here is a perfect example; on one of the major television networks a new show is out claiming the “New Normal”. One would have to ask, what the hell was wrong with the old normal. Hollywood, realizing the psychological component of the word need, which relates to people needing to be accepted, is using it to convince people of their vision of this new normal
When you replace the word need with the word “want” you begin to unbind yourself from the shackles that hold you back. Want is a much more positive word and sends a much more positive message into the universe.
To begin to regain our individualism I want you to get rid of the word “need” in your life. This means every aspect of your life. Replace the word need with the word “want”. It will not be easy, but as in all things effort is the key. I think once you begin this effort you will automatically begin to feel more in control and more positive.
